What causes the Xbox loud fan fault?
The fan in the console works off the temperature of the motherboard. If the motherboard is getting too hot, the fans will rev up to keep the Xbox cool. Sometimes a build up of dust, or thermal paste drying up can contribute to higher temperatures in the Xbox.
If you have loud fans, you should use this page to book you repair in with. We will service the console and if it doesn't work, we will let you know and ask for the price difference to be paid. We would not charge you for both repairs.
