What causes the iPad 8th Generation headphone jack fault?
Normally this fault is purely down to wear and tear. The contacts inside the socket are sprung and can lose the contact over time.
Also dirt and dust can get inside and cause headphone jack connection problems.
We have had a few iPad 8th Generation in where the jack from the headphones have snapped off inside the port. When this happens the port normally needs replacement.
